Rainy Days

 

I woke up this morning and the first thing I heard was the sound of rain coming down. I looked out of the window and saw the gray skies and knew it was going to be a great day! You see, whereas most people love a bright and sunny day, I love to wake up and see gray skies and rain. I love the warm and relaxed feeling it gives me, as if I’m sitting by the ocean. I’ve loved rainy days ever since I was a child. And because I also love to read a good book, there is just something about the sound of the rain coming down on my roof. When the usual bright, intrusiveness of the sun has been replaced with a dull gray sky, I feel as if that gives me permission to have a guilt-free lazy day! It’s even better today because my fiancé is home enjoying his XBOX while I enjoy some good TV in between reading my book. Of course, my sweet baby, Roxi, is sleeping at my feet while looking so content. These are my favorite types of days, knowing we’ve addressed any important obligations of the day and will conclude the evening with dinner and a movie. Hopefully, it will still be raining. Most people laugh when I tell them I prefer rainy days over sunny days but in my mind, I’m thinking they just don't know the beauty of a good ole’ rainy, snuggly day.
